Exhibition: Roots, In The Frame
Location: The Bomb Factory, London
Date: 12th-14th Dec, 2025
“The Embrace” is a large mixed-media canvas (100x150cm), created using my signature Pebble Exercise—where I place a pebble on the surface and allow the pen to move organically, forming intuitive, unpredictable lines that represent surrender, flow, and embracing uncertainty. The fluid blue forms sit beneath gold highlights and detailing inspired by the Japanese practice of Kintsugi, which repairs broken pottery with gold as a way of honouring imperfections rather than hiding them. This piece symbolises emotional rebirth, inner growth, and the beauty that emerges from our ‘cracks.’ Finished with a gold frame that complements the reflective gold accents throughout, this work invites viewers to see themselves held, transformed, and gently pieced back together
This piece is part of the Roots Exhibition hosted by In The Frame, a special Arts Council–funded project created to bridge the gap between emerging young artists and the wider art world. Over the last 10 weeks, students from The Bridge Academy (a London SEN school) have been working with an art therapist to develop their own artworks, which will be showcased alongside established artists. The aim is to build confidence, celebrate creativity, and show that a future in the arts is truly possible.
