My Story
Hi, I’m Demi 🤍
I’m a British abstract artist, author and creative wellbeing educator - and the creator of The Pebble Exercise®.
Growing up undiagnosed with ADHD and autism, I often felt misunderstood and struggled to express everything happening inside my mind. Creativity gave me somewhere for those feelings to go.
During the Covid-19 lockdown, life became overwhelming, and I moved in with my aunt and uncle to find some peace. My uncle encouraged me to begin painting again and even built me an easel from spare wood so I could create freely.
That was when I rediscovered art - not as something to perfect, but as something to feel.
Painting became a way for me to slow down, process emotions and reconnect with myself. My work is deeply intuitive, combining movement, texture and layered colour to explore peace, faith, healing and the beauty of letting go.
That same approach led me to create The Pebble Exercise® - a simple creative practice that has now reached more than four million people—and later, The Peaceful Brain Art Book.
Today, my mission is to help busy, overwhelmed and neurodivergent minds explore creativity without pressure. Whether I’m creating original artwork, sharing a gentle art exercise or welcoming people into a workshop, my work is always rooted in the same belief:
Art doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. Sometimes, the process is exactly what we need.
Thank you for being here and connecting with my work.
Love,
Demi x
